Los Angeles home of Rihanna hit by gunfire

A home in LA owned by Rihanna was targeted by gunfire, with the suspect in the incident having been taken into custody.

The alarm was raised to the Los Angeles Police Department on the afternoon of March 8th, with reports that shots had been fired towards the home in the Beverly Hills Post Office neighbourhood.

According to the LA Times, a round of bullets hit the wall of the mansion, with damage found sustained to the gates of the home as well as an RV parked in the driveway.

Rihanna was at home at the time of the incident, although no injuries were reported. It is not clear whether her partner A$AP Rocky, or any of their three children, were also at home when the gunfire took place.

Sgt Jonathan de Vera, a spokesperson for the LAPD said a 30-year-old woman has now been taken into custody after firing the shots from her car. The suspect was located by police around half an hour after the first emergency call, having travelled to the car park of a shopping centre in Sherman Oaks.

The spokesperson told the LA Times: “When they pulled the suspect over and took her into custody, they searched the vehicle and located an assault rifle and seven casings.”

Rihanna nor A$AP Rocky have yet spoken publicly about the incident.

The pop star most recently posted on her Instagram on February 27th about a series of campaigns she is currently fronting for her own brand, Savage x Fenty, as well as Dior.

She recently celebrated the tenth anniversary of her album Anti at the end of January, with it still remaining her most recent record as she has not released any new music since.
