London-based quarter Novella announce the release of their sophomore album Change of State, the follow up to their debut LP Land.
Alongside album news, Novella share a first taster of the record with the album title song and Far Out’s Track of the Day.
Following the band’s debut album the band toured extensively, traveling from one country to the next, and they have watched their home country of Britain change dramatically in social and political terms ;a contributing factor to the new record.
Recorded over the period of a few months in the Victorian bedroom studio of James Hoare (Ultimate Painting, Veronica Falls) on an old 1960’s 8-track, setting up Novella to utilize on a Change of State.
The album, we’re told, revolves around themes of conspiracy theories, elections, sound mirrors and the disillusioned texts of Murakami, JG Ballard and Kurt Vonnegut:
