Local police in Indiana “disappointed” in Phish fans due to “illicit behaviour”

Police in Indiana are unhappy with fans of Phish following their recent tour stop in the region.

On July 10th, 11th, and 12th, Phish took over the 24,000-capacity Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana, for three shows, which saw some members of their fanbase anger local law enforcement.

Although the vast majority of the tens of thousands that made their way to Noblesville were on their best behaviour, the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Hamilton County took to Facebook to share their frustration at the minority that caused problems.

They wrote: “Over the weekend, Ruoff Music Center hosted 3 days of Phish. As always, law enforcement was present to ensure the safety of all concertgoers. Frankly, we are disappointed in the number of people who showed up to engage in illicit behavior.”

The Prosecuting Attorney’s Office also revealed “significant quantities of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, methamphetamine, LSD, heroin, fentanyl, MDMA, marijuana, and nitrous oxide were seized” from attendees.

Additionally, five individuals across the three shows were arrested for “major-felony level drug dealing and/or possession offenses”.

Furthermore, they added that “officers also identified several individuals with outstanding warrants, including an individual with an out-of-state warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.”

The law enforcement authority continued: “Ruoff Music Center is a treasure in Hamilton County, bringing a diverse array of entertainment to Noblesville each season. While the vast majority of concertgoers aren’t dealing drugs and endangering the safety of others, officers will find and hold accountable those who are.”

They then stated that “law enforcement will not tolerate the wrongdoers who threaten the safety and enjoyment of those who just want to enjoy the show,” before telling readers to “enjoy the rest of the 2026 concert season!”

Ruoff Music Center is set to welcome a series of huge names, whose fans may or may not cause more trouble for law enforcement, across the summer. Next up is The Strokes on July 15th before John Mellencamp, The Black Crowes, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Hilary Duff will perform later this month.

Other acts coming to Hamilton County’s most prestigious venue include Mötley Crüe, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foreigner, Willie Nelson, Pitbull, and Five Finger Death Punch.
