Later this month (September 26th and 27th), Merseyside will once again play host to one of the most vibrant and immersive events in the UK thanks to the return of Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia.
Taking place at the city’s Camp and Furnace and Blade Factory venues, organisers say the annual festival “celebrates artists operating at the cutting edge of today’s global psychedelic renaissance, alongside visual art, film, performance and mind expanding visual delights”.
There has already been a stunning feast of live music that has been announced for some time, including the likes of Goat, Allah-Las and Suuns to name just a few. However, alongside that, lucky ticket holders will also get the chance to dance the night away in the most mind-bending way possible with a lineup of stellar DJs.
Perhaps the best known name is Brian Jonestown Massacre talisman Joel Gion, who will get behind the decks for a meandering trip through the weird and wonderful.
Joining him will be Finders Keepers label boss Andy Votel, Nothing Is…, and the mysterious Sheffield collective Eccentronic Research Council. The latter have even set aside the time put together an hour-long mix especially for Liverpool Psych Fest.
