A couple of years ago Far Out were lucky enough to see Loop live at Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club. Now, for the first time in 25 years, they’ve shared their first new single.
Formed in 1986, by frontman and guitarist Robert Hampson, Loop had been knocking around for some time, a few lineup changes, new projects (I must mention ‘Take Control’ by Hair and Skin Trading Company) and solo jaunts, eventually brought the brand to a halt after their third, and often deemed finest, studio LP ‘Gilded Eternity’ back in the 90′s.
After reforming in 2013 to play and curate the last ever ATP festival, Hampson and his men have been haring it around the globe; Austin played host to Loop at its psych fest and now the South London space rockers before descending on Spain’s golden sands for Primavera Sound.
Loop will again be hitting the road for a few very special shows, details of which can be found below. For now though, enjoy ‘Precession’:
Here are Loop’s upcoming live dates:
06/18 Hebden Bridge, UK – Trades Club
06/19 Liverpool, UK – Kazimier
06/20 Glasgow, UK – Barrowlands (ATP w/ Mogwai)
06/28 London, UK – Roundhouse (ATP at Roundhouse)
