Listen: The Futureheads release their first new song in seven years 'Jekyll'

The Sunderland band, that turned so many head sin the early noughties indie scene, The Futureheads have shared their first new song in seven years the riff-heavy rock and roll number ‘Jekyll’.

The band announced their return in January and have since released a heap of tour dates, but now we have the first new song since 2012’s ‘Rant’. The track is a powerful number of fast and furious indie-rock licks, coupled with the band’s impossible pacy attitude.

Lead singer Barry Hyde had this to say in a press release: “[It’s] a violent song about my childhood disgust at the grinning, jeering faces of certain fellow primary school students (even the nice ones) whenever there was a playground fight. It left a scar in my psyche that I just can’t shake.

“A song for the animal part of us all. With love from The Futureheads.”
