Listen: Take in Nicki Minaj and Nas’ ‘Sorry’

Having dropped her new album Queen on Friday you’d have though Nicki Minaj may have taken it easy for a few days. But no, not our Nicki, she instead released a track that didn’t make it to the album – her Nas featuring, Tracy Champan-sampling smash ‘Sorry.’

The latter being one of the principle reasons ‘Sorry’ didn’t make the album. Leading up to the release of Queen, Nicki Minaj continued to push back the album’s release date, from July to August after publicly asking Tracy Chapman to clear a sample.

Now, Nicki has shared the song separately from the album. ‘Sorry’ features Nas and heavily leans on Shelly Thunder’s ‘Sorry,’ which in turn interpolates Tracy Chapman’s ‘Baby Can I Hold You.’

Listen below. On Twitter, Nicki wrote, “Sis said no ??‍♀️,” seemingly referring to Chapman – a tweet which has since been deleted.
