Billie Eilish has shared her brand new supernatural single ‘My Future’.
In an email to fans, Eilish revealed that the song was written just after the United States went into quarantine following the outbreak of the pandemic.
“It’s a song that’s really really personal and special to me. when we wrote this song, it was exactly where my head was at – hopeful, excited and a craaaazy amount of self-reflection and self-growth,” she wrote.
“But recently it has also taken on a lot of new meaning in the context of what’s happening in the world now. i hope you can all find meaning in it for yourselves.”
Talking to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Eilish said: “It was so so satisfying,” she said over FaceTime. We wrote the song in like two days – that’s crazy fast for us. To be honest with you… it’s kind of been like that. We going!”
Eilish then added: “Then there was something about this one take that I did I was like: ‘This is the only way it can be.’ And then it was funny… we got kinda stuck for like a day. We were like what the f**k do we do here? Where does this go?”
