Linkin Park “devastated” to cancel Australian show hours before doors open

Linkin Park have cancelled their show in Adelaide, Australia, hours before doors were due to open due to illness.

The nu-metal icons were due to take to the stage at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on March 12th as part of their ongoing Australian tour.

On the day of the concert, Linkin Park mournfully took to social media to share with fans, “We have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel tonight’s show due to an illness in the band.”

They disappointingly added, “The Australian tour has been incredible so far and we are devastated that we’re unable to perform for our fans in Adelaide. Unfortunately, the show will not be rescheduled.”

Linkin Park then explained that the decision was taken with a heavy heart, sharing, “Please know that cancelling a show is not a decision we take lightly. We are sorry to those fans who were planning to attend.”

They closed their statement by informing fans that refunds will be made available from the point of purchase.

Linkin Park’s Australian tour began on March 3rd in Brisbane, which was followed by a second Brisbane date on March 5th, and two shows in Melbourne.

As it stands, the tour is set to resume on March 14th at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney. They will also play another show in Sydney on March 15th before finishing off the run in New Zealand at the Spark Arena in Auckland on March 18th.

This summer, they will return to Europe for a huge run of outdoor shows and headline festival appearances, including Download Festival in the UK. They are joined at the top of the bill at Donington Park by Limp Bizkit and Guns N’ Roses.
