Level 42 guitarist Boon Gould found dead

Boon Gould, the guitarist pop rock band Level 42, has been found dead at his home in Dorset on Tuesday.

Having been the guitarist and occasional saxophone player with the band between 1980 and 1987, Gould reunited with the band back in 2012.

The statement on the Level 42 website said: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to tell you of the passing of our dear friend and brother Boon Gould.

“You are at peace now Boon, no more pain mate.”

His brother Phil, added: “My heart is beyond broken. RIP Roland Charles ‘Boon’ Gould, my brother, 1955-2019.”

Mark King, the current bass player of the band, also said: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to tell you of the passing of our dear friend and brother Boon Gould.

“Dorset Police confirmed that he was found dead at his home on Tuesday morning. You are at peace now Boon, no more pain mate. Thank you for everything.”
