Laura Marling, Stormzy, Michael Kiwanuka nominated for 2020 Mercury Prize
Laura Marling, Stormzy and Michael Kiwanuka are among the nominees announced for the 2020 Hyundai Mercury Prize.
Dave took home the illustrious gong last year with his incredible debut record Psychodrama and now the 12 names have been revealed with one of them set to follow in the rapper’s footsteps by becoming a first-time winner of the award after no previous winners nominated.
Laura Marling’s nod sees her gain her fourth Mercury nomination that ties her with Arctic Monkeys and PJ Harvey but unlike the other two she is yet to take home the award, will 2020 be her year?
Michael Kiwanuka and Kano are both up for the award for the third occasion, with both hoping to make it third time lucky.
Sports Team and Moses Boyd have both seen their debut albums nominated for the award which will see them fight up against the likes of Dua Lipa, Charli XCX and Georgia.
