As with most of the world, Laura Marling is having to work from home. The singer gave a stunning performance of three new songs from her home as part of NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ series.
The singer, who released her new album Song For Our Daughter last week, was due to appear at NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ but had to make the switch to working from home.
The series has been refreshed for our current lockdown status and now NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk (Home) Concert’ series is visiting artists in their respective homes. Next up, was the wonderful folk singer, Laura Marling.
Marling gave live debuts to three songs from her new album, ‘Held Down,’ ‘Strange Girl’ and ‘Song For Our Daughter’ from the comfort of her own London home.
Unlike other artists, Marling’s performances are always enhanced by stripping back the pageantry of a stage, so this performance sees her at her peak. It allows Marling’s enchanting vocal to take centre stage and her lyrics to direct the whole play.
Marling’s new album Song For Our Daughter is out now. Watch her ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ above.
