The Last Dinner Party seal off ‘From The Pyre’ with final single, ‘Knocking At The Sky’
The Last Dinner Party has sealed off the universe conjured in their second album, From The Pyre, with the final song from the project, ‘Knocking At The Sky’.
The new song marks the final song that the band recorded at Crouch End’s Church Studios while working on their critically acclaimed sophomore album.
“’Knocking at the Sky’ is the final tale from From The Pyre,” The band has explained of the thunderous new single.
They added, “After creating an album about storytelling and world-building, we thought it apt to end this act with a story set in the sinister mythworld itself: Los Angeles.”
The Last Dinner Party went on, “Hollywood is the ultimate fairytale; the stakes are at surreal heights, the landscape is unruly and plastic and its populated with a cast of Grimm characters all striving and struggling at the centre of their own hero’s journey.”
The single comes alongside a new music video directed by Sinclair Bryant; it pays homage to classic cinema and the surreal world of John Waters.
The new single heralds the release of From The Pyre (Deluxe Edition), which arrives a year to the month after the album’s announcement via Western-inspired first single, ‘This Is The Killer Speaking’.
The band has recently finished a lengthy headline tour across America; this summer, they will perform at festivals like Isle of Wight, TRNSMT, Latitude and Wilderness.
As a support act, they will shine across arenas in the US in support of Sombr, while also supporting Olivia Rodrigo when she undergoes her January and February 2027 run of Los Angeles and New York.
Far Out gave From The Pyre a glowing four-and-a-half star review, observing, “At every turn of this album, we’re provided examples as to why The Last Dinner Party are a special act. There are hits here, but across all ten songs, the only approach taken is their own.”
