Lady Gaga and Elton John to release "hardcore drum and bass" track

According to a source close to both artists, Lady Gaga and Elton John are working on a “hardcore drum and bass” track together. The two singers have collaborated in the past, working on Gaga’s track ‘Sine From Above’ taken from her 2020 album Chromatica. However, that track was rooted in the world of pop, whereas this new remixed version of the song will reportedly “shock fans”. The track is set to be inherently experimental, sitting in stark contrast to the pop and dance-infused production style of the original.

In an interview, the source said that the track will be “about as far away from ‘Rocket Man’ and ‘Candle in the Wind’ as you can get. It’s gone from a pop-dance track to extreme hardcore drum and bass.” The song will mark another step into the world of dance music for Sir Elton, who recently surprised fans with a song featuring Dua Lipa. At the time ‘Sine From Above’ was released, Lady Gaga was vocal about her friendship with Elton John, describing how the musical icon taught her to “really take care of myself”.

“He’s been my mentor for a long time,” Gaga said. “I mean, he’s always challenged me to keep my head above water and it’s something that I always appreciate is that he knows when I’m down. He just does. And he knows because I hide, because I never want anyone to see me when I’m like that.”

Gaga went on to describe how: “Elton’s always really challenged me to take care of my artistry and to really take care of myself. And I really, really honour that about him. He is so, so uniquely special.”

Elsewhere, Elton John was filmed giving a surprise performance of his new single ‘Cold Heart’. He shared footage of the impromptu gig on his Instagram, writing: “Thought I’d surprise the people at La Guérite beach restaurant with a performance of the new track.” The remixed track is from his recent collaboration with Dua Lipa.
