Kylie Minogue and Quentin Tarantino to co-star in new film set in Wales
In one of the more random celebrity crossovers of recent years, Kylie Minogue and Quentin Tarantino are set to team up as co-stars in a new film.
While Tarantino is known for making cameos in his own films, and Minogue obviously got her start in the Australian hit soap Neighbours, it marks a rare occasion for them both to head in front of the camera.
Perhaps even more unexpected is the fact that the film, named Tangled Up in Blue and being directed by Jamie Adams, is being set in Wales.
According to Rolling Stone, the unlikely Hollywood pairing were spotted in a restaurant in the small town of Porthcawl, where they reportedly shot a number of scenes together.
At this stage, very little is known about the plot of the movie, other than that Tarantino is fittingly playing the role of a wealthy benefactor.
However, according to Variety, Adams pitched the idea to Tarantino after he last worked with him on his previous film Only What We Carry, and the director unexpectedly took an interest.
“I sent him the story outline and a letter,” Adams told the publication. “I was just very honest about believing in him as an actor,” he said, before adding, “I didn’t think I’d hear back. But two weeks later, on a Sunday, his agent emailed saying Quentin was intrigued and wanted a Zoom.”
Jason Isaacs, Sofia Boutella, RZA, and Welsh actors Julian Lewis Jones, Craig Russell, Siwan Morris, and Karen Paullada are set to star in the film, with the title based on the 1975 Bob Dylan song from his album Blood on the Tracks.
No further details regarding the plot or release date for Tangled Up in Blue have yet been revealed.
