Kyle MacLachlan to star in ‘Joe Exotic’ drama series

“You know, this is – excuse me – a damn fine man killing feline.”

The forthcoming Joe Exotic limited series is set to document the life of the former Oklahoma zoo operator and big cat breeder who inexplicably became a lockdown sensation in the documentary Tiger King.

Exotic, whose birth name is Joseph Allen Schreibvogel, is set to be played by John Cameron Mitchell, while MacLachlan will take on the role of Carole Baskin’s spouse, Harold Baskin.

Saturday Night Live star Kate McKinnon is set to play MacLachlan’s wife Carole, who fell under suspicion recently in the unsolved case of her first husband’s mysterious disappearance in 1997.

The series is set to focus on the feud between Exotic and Baskin which ultimately resulted in the mullet sporting tiger enthusiast receiving a 22-year sentence for hiring a hitman to kill Baskin and 17 charges of animal abuse.

This absurd real-life tale of feuds, felines and federal investigations is set to premiere on Peacock an American streaming service operated by NBC.

No release date has yet been set for the series as it still appears to be very much in its early stages. However, producers will want to rush it through as quickly as possible as they face competition from the Amazon Prime series on the same topic starring Nic Cage in the lead role.
