Kurt Vile releases new song ‘Wakin on a Pretty Day’
Kurt Vile has released the first single from his eagerly anticipated new album, Wakin on a Pretty Daze.
The slightly confusing new single isn’t quite the album’s namesake, but the self-confessed perfectionist Vile hasn’t disappointed as he builds on the immense popularity of Smoke Ring for My Halo.
When discussing the album’s themes and lyrical content, Vile stated: “It’s just about my life, without thinking too much about it. I feel comfortable with the lyrics.”
He continued: “I think myself and my bandmates, my close bandmates, Rob Laakso and Jesse Trbovich, they’re right there with me. We all live it.”
The Philadelphia-born guitarist has released the new album on current label Matador and is about to embark on a vast world tour.
It will start tomorrow at Coachella Festival and will end in Portland after making his way around the US, trekking across Europe and stopping off in Barcelona for Primavera before a quick show in London.
