Kneecap team up with Grian Chatten on ‘Better Way To Live’

The Irish rap trio Kneecap have released their new single, ‘Better Way To Live’, in collaboration with Fontaines D.C. vocalist Grian Chatten.

The colourful and absorbing track was produced by Toddla T and marks Kneecap’s debut single for Heavenly Recordings. Chatten was also accompanied by his band’s drummer, Tom Coll, who also played on the effort.

Accompanying the new single is a music video directed by Peadar Gill, which was shot in Madden’s Bar in Belfast, where Kneecap first met Chatten.

“‘Better Way To Live’ is all about finding that little spark of joy in the monotony, in the day-to-day things that you barely bat an eye at,” the trio said of the new track.

“In between the moments of that repetitive lift of the pint or spark of a cigarette, there is an opportunity for bliss. Underneath that constant noise, there is a silence that can breathe new life and inspiration breaking through the mundane,” they continued.

Kneecap has just completed a headline tour of North America. The trio energised audiences at sold-out shows in Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Toronto and San Francisco, with an emphatic show-stopper at New York’s Bowery Ballroom.

Later this year, the group are set to play two shows at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin and also perform a huge show at The Electric Ballroom in London on November 29th.
