Kid Rock crticises “sad” Billie Eilish: “You might want to look into Jesus”

Kid Rock has slammed Billie Eilish for seeming permanently “sad”.

His comments come in the wake of her anti-ICE speech after winning the Grammy for ‘Song of the Year’ with her hit track, ‘Wildflower’.

Kid Rock was appearing on the latest episode of The Charlie Kirk Show podcast, where, without any provocation, he began to blast Eilish for her public persona and artistic demeanour without directly mentioning her comments at the Grammys.

Comparing himself with different types of artists, Rock said: “You gotta see some of these people. I mean, look at that poor Billie Eilish girl, just look at her! She looks like, literally, sad, just unhappy with everything in life. That’s gotta be horrible.”

He then appealed to Eilish directly, saying, “You might want to look into Jesus, girl!”.

Rock is notably a prominent right-wing supporter of Donald Trump, and was appearing on the podcast to reveal the line-up for his alternative SuperBowl halftime show set to take place next weekend, hosted by Turning Point USA, the organisation that Kirk founded.

Billed as the All-American Halftime Show, the concert will feature Rock as well as supporting acts Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett.

It comes as the alternative to the real Super Bowl, where Green Day and Bad Bunny are set to perform. Trump previously said he would not attend the event as he is “anti-them”.

However, Bad Bunny was one of those alongside Eilish who used their acceptance speeches at the Grammy Awards on January 31st to speak out against Trump and ICE, with the former saying: “Before I say thanks to god, I’m going to say, ICE out. We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we are humans, and we are Americans.”

For her part, Eilish also used the opportunity to speak out during her win for ‘Song of the Year’, as she said: “No one is illegal on stolen land.”

The singer added: “I feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting, and our voices really do matter, and the people matter, and fuck ICE.”

It came as one of many moments in recent times where Eilish has criticised ICE, even slamming other celebrities in an Instagram post last week for not using their platforms.
