Khruangbin share new single ‘May Ninth’
Khruangbin have shared their new single, ‘May Ninth’. The song is taken from their upcoming album, A La Sala. The new offering is full of warmth, allowing the band’s signature sound to ring through with every second.
The trio, who are based in Houston, Texas, have a habit of infusing tracks with elements of nature. On ‘May Ninth’, if you listen extremely closely, with the aid of earphones, birds can be heard providing backing vocals to Khruangbin. The new single expands upon the setting that featured on their previous single, ‘A Love International.’
‘May Ninth’ is a product of Khruangbin’s unique approach to making music and navigating the industry. They have always put their internal inspiration forward, and their mindset is centred around penetrating the self to connect with the surrounding world. This is achieved on ‘May Ninth,’ a song that sounds discovered instead of written and reflects the world in which it was created.
The new album, A La Sala, will mark the first traditional studio album by the band in four years, although they teamed up with Vieux Farka Touré on the collaborative Ali in 2022. The new project is set to be released on April 5th through Dead Oceans, in partnership with Night Time Stories Ltd.
Additionally, Khruangbin are hitting the road, with new dates announced for their stint across North America. The group will play festivals including Bonnaroo, Coachella, Boston Calling, and iconic venues such as Red Rocks in Denver, Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in New York and The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
Furthermore, the band will also cross the pond to Europe for numerous festival dates, including Rock Werchter, Latitude and Nos Alive. However, no headline dates have been announced yet.
The new album will only add to the already impressive discography they have constructed so far as Khruangbin continue to cement themselves as an unwavering force in modern music.
