Karen O and Danger Mouse cover Lou Reed's classic song 'Perfect Day'

The enigmatic vocalist and lead singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Karen O recently joined forces with producer and all-round music maestro Danger Mouse for a special album Lux Prima, which came out in March. Now the pair have covered Lou Reed’s classic single ‘Perfect Day’ and it’s our Track of the Day.

Recorded as part of a session for Sirius XMU Sessions the pair transform the Reed track and turn it very much into their own with Karen O’s vocals never sounding more pristine. The original song was released in 1972 as part of the David Bowie produced album Transformer.

In March of this year, the duo of O and Mouse (totally should be their band name) stopped by ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ and played Lux Prima single ‘Woman’, with the performance being shot by Spike Jonze in black and white.

2019 also played host to Karen O covering another gem when she took on Smashing Pumpkin’s ‘Bullet With Butterfly Wings’ when covered the track in January.
