Kanye West has dropped a snippet of his new track, ‘No Child Left Behind’, taken from his forthcoming album Donda which is due out on Friday.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait a while longer for the full song, and Yeezy has only given us a minute of ‘No Child Left Behind’ to enjoy. Kanye has teamed up with Beats Music and allowed the company to use the track for an advert starring Sha’Carri Richardson. America’s fastest woman recently hit the headlines after being banned from the Olympics following the news that she tested positive for marijuana in a drug test.
During game six of the NBA Finals last night, the commercial premiered and features Kanye repeatedly singing the line: “He’s done miracles on me”.
Fans will get to hear the new album for the first time tomorrow night during a “listening event” titled ‘Kanye West Presents Donda‘. The party takes place at 8pm at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta and will also be globally live-streamed by Apple.
It was only at the start of the week when rumours emerged about Donda following social media personality Justin LaBoy revealing that he and NBA star Kevin Durant had heard the new album.
The Revolt TV presenter wrote: “Kanye played his new album for me and Durant last night in Vegas. Man listen! The production is light years ahead of its time, and the bars sound like he’s broke and hungry trying to get signed again. Any artist who plan on dropping soon should just push it back Respectfully”.
It then emerged that West had held a listening party for the new record in Las Vegas, and Def Jam delivered their short but sweet verdict on the album. The legendary label’s tweet simply read: “YZY SZN”.
Donda was first scheduled to be released twelve months ago, but it failed to materialise. Apple has now confirmed that the album will arrive on Friday, and everything is shaping up perfectly for that to be true.
