Judge postpones Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni trial

The upcoming Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni trial has been postponed by two months.

The trial between the It Ends With Us stars relating to allegations made by Lively against Baldoni was due to head to the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on March 9th, 2026.

However, the date has now been postponed until May 18th, 2026.

According to People, Judge Lewis J Liman made the decision to postpone the upcoming high-profile trial due to prioritising two criminal trials that he has on the horizon.

During a post-discovery hearing held on December 9th, Liman stated, “As important as this case is… criminal trials take precedent.”

Additionally, Liman also encouraged both parties to contact a specific magistrate in order to help find a settlement agreement.

Earlier this month, legal representatives for Lively criticised Baldoni’s request for a summary judgment, claiming that this is a move to “avoid accountability” on Baldoni’s part for the alleged “hostile environment” on the It Ends With Us set.

In the recently released filing, Lively’s attorneys argued that Baldoni, as well as his company, Wayfarer Studios, are attempting to “deny Blake Lively her day in court”.

In the heavily redacted 72-page document, Lively’s attorneys also accused Baldoni’s team of “throwing the kitchen sink at Lively’s sexual harassment and retaliation claims”.

Further quotes from the filing state that the “defendants created a hostile environment, and when confronted with complaints, they abandoned Wayfarer’s policies by refusing to investigate the concerns.”

Since the movie’s release in 2024, Baldoni and Lively have been in a legal battle after she accused her It Ends With Us co-star and director of sexual harassment and retaliation. She also alleged that an online smear campaign was targeted against her by Baldoni’s team.

Additionally, Baldoni launched a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, which was dismissed in June by a judge.

Baldoni strongly denies the allegations.
