Jonas Akerlund's horror 'Lords of Chaos', starring Sky Ferreira and Rory Culkin, releases first trailer

Jonas Akerlund’s new horror project Lords of Chaos has released a new trailer previewing the film.

The film, which is set in 1987 Oslo, follows 17-year-old Euronymous who becomes fixated on creating “true Norwegian black metal” with his band Mayhem.

According to the synopsis, Euronymous takes on shocking publicity stunts to put the band’s name on the map, but the lines between show and reality begin to blur.

While Akerlund is in the director’s chair, the Swedish filmmaker has recruited some high-profile names to fill his cast with the likes of Sky Ferreira, Rory Culkin, Jack Kilmer, and Valter Skarsgård all being involved.

With several setbacks since the idea was first conceived in 2009, the first screening on Lords of Chaos was held during 2018 Sundance Film Festival with the official release now pencilled in for February 8, by Gunpowder and Sky.
