John Mellencamp says his daughter Teddi is “really sick” amid cancer battle
Singer-songwriter John Mellencamp has provided a health update on his daughter, Teddi Mellencamp, who is battling brain cancer.
In 2022, Teddi opened up about her battle with cancer, revealing that she had been diagnosed with stage two melanoma.
Then, in 2025, Teddi revealed that her cancer had reached stage four after medics found tumours on her lungs and brain. She then underwent immunotherapy, radiation and surgery.
Now, her Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inductee father has discussed her health struggles. “It’s not fucking fun,” Mellencamp said of his daughter’s ongoing health struggles while on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.
Mellencamp continued, “She’s got cancer in the brain, and she’s suffering right now.”
On her podcast, Two T’s in a Pod, Teddi, who previously starred on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, provided a positive update on her cancer battle in October, revealing, “Just to give a little life update to you guys, I had my immunotherapy yesterday and I did my scans and at this point there is no detectable cancer.”
She added, “I’m still going to be having days when I’m feeling sick and stuff because I still am in immunotherapy, so I’m still fighting because you have to be.”
However, Teddi explained that she is yet to be in remission, explaining, “The way the (doctors) said it works, it’s like one year, then two years, then at three years you’re allowed to be considered … in remission. So, but that was huge news yesterday.”
Meanwhile, earlier this week, Mellencamp announced plans to return to the road this summer, promising to deliver greatest hits sets across amphitheatres and arenas in North America.
The run of dates will begin at the Grand Rapids on July 10th, traipsing through cities such as Cincinnati, Charlotte, Tampa, Houston, Phoenix, before concluding in California at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View on August 12th. He is also set to play the Hollywood Bowl on August 10th.
