German police have found over 100 items that were previously stolen from John Lennon’s estate which includes three private diaries.
Police have confirmed that a 58-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods which included two pairs of glasses, sheet music, cigarette case and a tape recording of a Beatles gig.
The collection of items are said to be stolen from Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono in 2006. German police said they had been alerted to the haul after parts were confiscated from an auction house in Berlin in July.
A second suspect, who used to work for Ono, is “unattainable at the present time” police also said. However, Martin Steltner, a spokesman for the Berlin prosecutors office, refused to confirm whether or not the items would be returned to Ono.
