‘Impractical Jokers’ star Joe Gatto checks into treatment facility following sexual assault allegations
Joe Gatto, one of the stars of the comedy series Impractical Jokers, has checked into a treatment facility following recent allegations of sexual assault that have been levelled against him.
Gatto has also cancelled all of the upcoming dates on his current tour following the recent revelations made by TikTok user joozyb, which he has firmly denied despite remarking that he has previously been known for his “poor judgement”.
In a statement regarding his decision to voluntarily enter in-patient care, Gatto said: “Having taken some time to reflect, I’ve decided to voluntarily enter an inpatient program to continue working on myself. I just want to thank my friends, fans and especially my family for all of their support – never more so than over the last few days.”
The comedian appeared on the hidden-camera reality TV show for ten years from 2011 to 2021 alongside James Murray, Brian Quinn and Sal Vulcano, before leaving the show halfway through season nine, citing “personal reasons”.
The recent allegations made against Gatto stemmed from an encounter between him and joozyb during a tour stop in Milwaukee in 2023. After approaching the comedian at a restaurant to get free tickets to his show, she claims that she was invited back to his hotel room.
Joozyb then posted a series of cross-platform posts to TikTok and Instagram claiming she was “sexually assaulted” by Gatto, attaching screenshots of messages from the comedian and bruises on her body that she claims were a result of his actions.
The accuser claims that she was 19 at the time of the alleged assault, while Gatto would have been 46. Gatto denies an assault took place.
