Stumbling, stuttering, yet seamlessly skipping into the Far Out consciousness comes the mercurial Manipur, India born Australian based (just rolls off the tongue!) talent Jitwam, and his crackling electronic soul infused creeper ‘Keepyourbusinesstoyourself’ as, you guessed it, Friday’s Track of the Day.
Once again, for us, we’ve strayed a little bit off the beaten track, mind the unintentional pun, to bring you this tune but surely you can’t blame us; with an old school William Bell esque soul lick on loop lurking behind a bold, well mastered hi hat cassette hiss, random instrumental intervention and a lyric/vocal that induces Xanax effects, well, there’s not much left to be desired.
… The only problem I can pick out from this track, mastered brilliantly by Mathew David of, the aptly named, Brainfeeders is that it’s only three minutes long.
Keepyourbusinesstoyourself is one of three grooves on Jitwam’s TJD001 EP, released on The Jazz Diaries record label, that you can catch the rest of here.
