Jerry Seinfeld likens Free Palestine movement to the Ku Klux Klan
Jerry Seinfeld has continued his tirade against the Free Palestine movement by likening the form of protest to the Ku Klux Klan.
The 71-year-old comedian has previously commented that he “doesn’t care” about Palestine, after being asked about the situation by internet provocateur, Subway DJ. At this time, the interviewer said, “Free Palestine, and when Seinfeld didn’t respond, he added, “Maybe?” Seinfeld is then captured, stating, “I don’t care about Palestine,” before walking off.
According to Dulke University Chronicle, Seinfeld said on stage at a surprise appearance at the establishment, “Free Palestine is, to me, just … you’re free to say you don’t like Jews. Just say you don’t like Jews.”
He continued, “By saying ‘Free Palestine’, you’re not admitting what you really think. So it’s actually – compared to the Ku Klux Klan, I’m actually thinking the Klan is actually a little better here, because they can come right out and say, ‘We don’t like Blacks, we don’t like Jews.’ OK, that’s honest.”
A University spokesperson has since insisted, “Duke does not preview the remarks of speakers who are invited to campus, and the invitation of speakers to campus does not imply any endorsement of their remarks.”
He has been previously vocal about his support of Israel during their reign of terror over Gaza and the Palestinian people. In October 2023, an Instagram post of his read, “I lived and worked on a Kibbutz in Israel when I was 16, and I have loved our Jewish homeland ever since,” adding, “We survive and flourish no matter what. I will always stand with Israel and the Jewish people.”
In April 2024, he reiterated that stance in an interview, stating, “I don’t preach about it. I have my personal feelings about it that I discuss privately.” He continued, “It’s not part of what I can do comedically, but my feelings are very strong.”
