Jeremy Allen White recalls meeting Bruce Springsteen for the first time at Wembley Stadium

Jeremy Allen White has discussed his first encounter with Bruce Springsteen at Wembley Stadium in 2024.

This meeting came several months before White entered production on the Springsteen biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere, in late 2024, which is set to arrive in cinemas on October 24th, 2025.

During a new conversation with Austin Butler for Interview ahead of the release of the movie, which was also executively produced by Springsteen, White recalled, “I had to be in Paris for something the summer before we started shooting, and he was playing at Wembley, so I got invited to soundcheck.”

White continued: “There’s maybe a dozen people hanging around, but I’m able to have this very isolated moment where I’m watching them do soundcheck, and Bruce sees me. He’s up onstage and I’m down below and we shake hands. And so our first meeting was onstage at Wembley, talking for about 20 minutes.”

According to the Deliver Me From Nowhere star, the conversation then turned to Springsteen’s family, the movie, and they continued to talk backstage until it was time for ‘The Boss’ to rock out in-front of 90,000 adoring fans.

In the show, he also made sure to find White with the actor recalling, “I can see 90,000 people and I’m with some friends—Ayo [Edebiri] and Molly [Gordon] were there—and I’m sitting with them, and Bruce is looking over and his wife Patti’s nearby, too. I’m like, ‘Who’s he looking for? Maybe he’s looking for Patti?’ And then he locks eyes with me and he plays to me for 30 seconds.”

White described the look that Springsteen gave him as a “transference of energy going on” from the stage. He added, “He found me that time and two other times throughout the night to try and give me a taste of what it’s like to be up there and why these guys can’t quit it. And of course they can’t.”

Last week, Far Out was in attendance at a special event held at Spotify’s Headquarters in London, which saw White discuss Deliver Me From Nowhere with Springsteen.

During the talk, White explained that he was initially fearful about having to sing for the movie, sharing, “At first, singing Bruce’s songs was intimidating. But I found confidence in the booth… that was the first time I really felt close to Bruce.”

Springsteen also hilariously explained his reasoning for giving the green light to Deliver Me From Nowhere, stating, “I figured, I’m 76 years old, I don’t really care what the fuck I do anymore.”
