Jennifer Aniston’s stalker found mentally incompetent to stand trial

The man charged with stalking actor Jennifer Aniston and crashing his car into her front gate has been found mentally incompetent to stand trial.

After two psychiatric examinations of the defendant, Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, it was decided that the man could not answer to felony charges of vandalism and stalking. “The court finds the defendant is not currently competent to stand trial,” Judge Maria Cavalluzzi said. “Criminal proceedings will remain suspended.”

The caucasian man was arrested originally on suspicion of burglary when he crashed into the gates of the actor’s mansion at around 12:20pm local time on the afternoon of May 5th. He was restrained by security on the property before police arrived.

Appearing behind glass in a custody area of the courtroom, Carwyle was silent and wrapped in a blanket-like smock meant for suicide prevention. “It’s not the outcome my client would have preferred,” deputy public defender Robert Krauss told the judge, as Carwyle had previously insisted he was competent.

More comprehensive mental evaluations were ordered to determine how to hold the man, and what treatment he shall be given. The hearing on June 26th will allow the judge to hear an update on these matters.

Carwyle has a history of allegedly intruding on Aniston’s life. Carwyle was accused of harassing Aniston from March 1st, 2023, to May 5th of this year, repeatedly sending her unsolicited emails, voicemails and social media messages.

The new findings will not be a surprise for those close to Carwyle. According to NBC, Carwyle’s best friend said he has had a steady decline in mental health over the last half a decade, leading to delusions that he’s a Christ-like figure who is married to Aniston.

He recently took to social media to complain that he was being kept apart from the Friends actor. “If someone out there can reach Jennifer Joanna Aniston Carwyle, let her know about the corruption going on trying to keep Me from her, you will be Blessed!” he wrote.
