James Cameron hints at larger 'Terminator' franchise after 'Dark Fate'

The legendary director and producer of the upcoming Terminator: Dark Fate has hinted at the possibility of some more follow-up films in the Terminator franchise and has got us all very excited.

The film is due out later this year, October 23rd, and will pick up the story where Terminator 2: Judgement Day left off. Thankfully, Cameron made the choice to ignore the following three films in between, and even more thankfully, Arnie is back in the role of the T-800 and Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor for the first time in a quarter of a century. It was recently revealed that Edward Furlong would even reprise his role as John Connor in the new flick.

Cameron is making the right moves on the cast list of the new film but he got fans even more excited when he recently hinted at the film becoming a trilogy.

He told Deadline: “We spent several weeks breaking story and figuring out what type of story we wanted to tell, so we would have something to pitch Linda, we rolled up our sleeves and started to break out the story and when we got a handle on something we looked at it as a three-film arc, so there is a greater story there to be told.”

“If we get fortunate enough to make some money with Dark Fate we know exactly where we can go with the subsequent films.”
