Jack White rocks Washington: Here’s his full setlist
Jack White has begun his latest North American tour, which is due to keep him on the road for the foreseeable future.
White, who released his latest album Frozen Charlotte last week on July 10th, kicked things off on the same day at The Anthem in Washington DC.
Subsequently, the tour stopped by the Paramount in Brooklyn, New York, over the weekend for two shows, and will next resume on July 14th at the RBC Amphitheatre in Toronto.
Due to White having two shows in Brooklyn, he mixed up the setlists heavily each night, allowing different chapters of his career to have the spotlight shone upon them.
For the first show, White treated the crowd to beloved White Stripes cuts like ‘Fell In Love With A Girl’, ‘Hotel Yorba’, and ‘Icky Thump’, which he left out from his second performance of the weekend.
He was also joined by his daughter, Scarlett, on bass, to play The White Stripes’ ‘Cannon’, ‘Black Math’, and ‘John The Revelator’.
Meanwhile, favourites that he played exclusively on the second night include ‘Lazaretto’, The Raconteurs’ ‘Steady, As She Goes’, and The White Stripes’ ‘Ball and Biscuit’.
However, while White is likely to continue to mix things up depending on his mood and how he’s feeling in that precise moment, the setlist from his opening show in Washington is perhaps the best indicator of what to expect for ticket-holders heading to an upcoming concert.
Of course, there were still curveballs, such as a cover of Rhinoceros’ ‘You’re My Girl (I Don’t Want to Discuss It)’ and Howlin’ Wolf’s ‘I Walked From Dallas’, the bulk of the set consisted of songs that did get aired across the two nights in Brooklyn.
Those include ‘Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground’, ‘Lazaretto’, ‘Love Interruption’, ‘Steady, As She Goes’, ‘That’s How I’m Feeling’, ‘Derecho Demonico’, and ‘Dollar Bill’.
The main consistency between the three shows so far has been White kicking things off with a jam that bleeds into ‘That’s How I’m Feeling’, and closing the nights with ‘Seven Nation Army‘. The full setlist for Washington is available to view below.
Next month, after the conclusion of his first North American leg, White’s UK run will begin with two shows at the Eventim Apollo in London in late August, followed by visits to Bristol, Newcastle and Belfast, before two shows in Ireland at the 3Olympia, which will round out his summer itinerary in Europe.
He’ll be back on home soil in September, starting in Cincinnati on the 18th. This extensive leg of the tour will keep White on the road until November 18th with notable stops including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville, Milwaukee, Miami Beach and Atlanta.
