Jack White changes lyrics to ‘Corporation’ to attack Donald Trump and Elon Musk

During a recent live show in Boston, Massachusetts, Jack White altered the lyrics to his track ‘Corporation’ to attack President Donald Trump and his right-hand man Elon Musk.

Ever since Trump first swapped The Apprentice for the realm of politics a decade ago, White has been a prominent critic of the Republican. Last year, the former White Stripes musician sued Trump for using ‘Seven Nation Army’ at his presidential rallies in the run-up to the election.

Now, in a recently surfaced clip from White’s show in Boston last month, he has rejigged the lyrics to his 2018 song, ‘Composition’, to poke fun at the pairing of Trump and Musk.

“I was thinking about taking government subsidies and starting my own electric car company; who’s with me?” White sings in the clip, in a not-so-subtle dig at the Tesla owner (via Consequence).

He then continues, “I’m thinking about not being elected. Never holding a public office. Never serving one day of military service, But somehow having the authority to control parts of the US Government, Who’s with me?”

At another point in the song, White brutally sings, “I’m thinking about not being properly vetted by the Supreme Court or Congress, Just doing whatever the hell I want because some fucking bloated asshole orange fucking gorilla whose failed at every business he’s ever ran wants me to be his golf cart partner.”

White’s latest outburst against Trump comes after the singer took to Instagram to lament the Republican’s election win and express fear for marginalised communities across the next four years.

He wrote: “Trump won the popular vote. End of story. Americans chose a known, obvious fascist and now America will get whatever this wannabe dictator wants to enact from here on in. We all know what he is capable of: Project 2025, deportations, nationwide abortion ban, ending his own 2 termlimit, backing Putin and his war, shutting down the Board of Education, adding to climate change, limiting LGBTQ rights, controlling the DOJ, keeping the minimum wage down, etc. etc. etc.. Any or all of it.”
