Jack Nicholson offered Anjelica Huston his home during LA wildfires

Residents of Los Angeles are still recovering from the devastating wildfires which ravaged the region earlier in the year. Thousands of people, including a plethora of iconic actors such as Anjelica Huston, were forced to evacuate their homes. Now, the Oscar winner has revealed that her former partner, Jack Nicholson, offered to help her during the evacuation.

Famously, Nicholson and Huston dated on and off between 1973 and 1990. During that time, the actors participated in many of their most beloved roles and even starred alongside each other in the film Prizzi’s Honor in 1985, which earned Huston an Academy Award.

Their romantic relationship came to an end in 1990, following Nicholson’s pregnancy with fellow actor Rebecca Broussard. Since then, though, the pair have remained firm friends and allies, although Huston has revealed that the pair do not see each other as often these days.

In a recent interview with People, however, she revealed that Nicholson had contacted her during the wildfires to offer her refuge in his home after she had to evacuate.

“The phone just rang out of nowhere, and it was him,” Huston said about Nicholson’s phone call. “It’s always a comfort when he calls… It was heartbreakingly sweet. I’ve gone back over it several times in my head, and I think next time I’d accept the invitation.”

Explaining the difficulties in maintaining a friendship with Nicholson, Huston simply shared, “Life gets in the way.” Adding, “Also, for some reason, they’ve been doing endless rerouting and road work near his house, so it takes hours to get to him, and that’s always irritating. I always managed to be late going to see him, which is very irritating for him.”

Despite battling with cancer following the filming of 2019’s John Wick: Chapter 3, Huston still remains active in the acting world, set to appear in Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero later this month.
