In one of the most touching scenes in the movie mega-hit Avengers: Endgame, Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man, makes the ultimate sacrifice. But, could there be a chance we’ll see Stark back on our screens sooner than we thought?
With the furore of the next ‘phase’ of the Marvel Comic Universe beginning with the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, attentions are quickly turning to the future. But perhaps a blast from the past will still have a hand in proceedings.
While phase 4 of the MCU means that there will be no Iron Man or Captain America in the upcoming new set of movies, reports from We Got This Covered have suggested that Stark could have a role in a new series called Ironheart.
The Disney + television show is set to focus on the character Ironheart, aka Riri Williams, who in Marvel scripture is taught by AI (voiced by Stark) and introduced while Tony Stark is in a coma. It is yet unclear if Downey Jr will make a full return, though the suggestion is that he will reprise the role as a voice-over, much like that of Paul Bettany’s JARVIS.
The real story here is that @RobertDowneyJr said publicly in a room full of people that #Ironheart should be in the MCU. I went straight back to the press area afterward and was like YOU ALL HEARD IT, WRITE THAT DOWN https://t.co/WoursjnRdW— wikipedia brown ||| abolish ICE. (@eveewing) June 16, 2019
Downey Jr. clearly supports the project, after the Iron Man star attended a Gala with Ironheart creator Eve Ewing and voiced his want for the show to become a full-fledged part of the Marvel Comics Universe.
Ewing said: “The real story here is that @RobertDowneyJr said publicly in a room full of people that #Ironheart should be in the MCU.”
