Today it has been confirmed that BBC Two will soon be airing a new documentary film ‘Mystify’ with the legendary late singer Michael Hutchence as its subject. The INXS singer sadly lost his life in 1997.
Among those who will be paying tribute to the star in the film are former girlfriends Kylie Minogue and Helena Christensen, U2 lead singer Bono, surviving members of INXS, his siblings Rhett and Tina, as well as his stepmother Susie and his producer Nick Launay.
We have yet to receive a date the film will be aired in the UK, however BBC Music’s head of commissioning Jan Younghusband said: “Michael Hutchence was one of the most influential and charismatic rock stars of the modern era, and I’m delighted that this moving documentary will air on BBC2.”
A statement said Mystify will feature “rare archive footage and intimate insights from friends, lovers, family colleagues and Hutchence himself. The film portrays his life from the beginning of his fractured family background to the peaks of rock stardom”.
With footage provided by Hutchence’s family, including film shot by Michael’s late father Kell, as well as Kylie and his bandmates, this film may well prove to be a very intimate affair.
