Interpol share the cinematic video for ‘The Rover’

Interpol have shared the new video for their track ‘The Rover’ which not only has a stellar cast but also a brilliant director, which comes together to create a video worthy of its cinematic status.

It’s directed by Gerardo Naranjo, whose most famous work is the brilliant Pablo Escobar Netflix series Narcos. The clip also stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach (aka Desi from “Girls”) as “The Rover.” We see the protagonist exit the band’s van at the beginning of the clip and go on to have a wild adventure in Mexico City which ends with ‘The Rover’ crashing the band’s real-life press conference in the city.

Paul Banks said the video is “the origin story of the character described in the song, the birth of a cult leader.” He continued, “When we meet him he is partly unhinged. He’s a man on the verge, an artist subjected to great pressures, and beset with existential frustrations. A distracted hipster who enjoys psychedelics, let’s say.”
