“Not to be taken away”: The infamous UK locations where music’s greatest met their end
They say the only things certain in life are death and taxes. Well, that’s true, but for a lot of rock stars, things are flipped in reverse, as they leave their taxes for too long and greet death far too quickly.
There’s no escaping the fact that a lot of rock stars don’t exactly take care of themselves. Lengthy stretches on the road hardly promote a healthy way of living, as musicians have late nights playing to large crowds, overindulge on a variety of substances (both legal and less so), and, in general, live their lives a touch too recklessly.
Given so many of these rock stars performed up and down the UK, the country is essentially one big memorial, with different venues, street corners and strips of land acting as the final places where different musicians took their last breaths. While these landmarks are inherently pretty sad places, they have also become locations where those who were touched by an artist’s music can go and pay their respects.
You would be surprised just how many of these makeshift memorials are dotted around the country. Here, we will look further into the different places where famous musicians sadly passed away.
