Hot Chip has added a hypnotic twist to Django Django’s enchanting track ‘Glowing In The Dark’.
The original song was released last month and is the title track from Django Django’s upcoming fourth studio album, which is out in February through Because Music. The Scottish four-piece recorded the album in London during the height of lockdown and being able to focus on this record gave the band a perfect method of escapism, which you can hear shining through on both ‘Glowing In The Dark’ and their comeback single ‘Spirals’.
The remix sees Hot Chip turn the trippiness up a level on the track and give it a psychedelic edge, which makes Django Django’s version seem like the radio-friendly version in comparison. Their reimagining still holds the same soul as Django Django’s effort but feels as though it has been let off the leash and no boundaries are holding the remix back.
The opportunity to remix ‘Glowing In The Dark’ was one that Hot Chip was delighted to land, dotingly noting in a statement: “We were stoked out of our minds to get our hands on this track from Django Django; so strong and fun and addictive! We hope folks like what we’ve done with it and enjoy the sounds as much as we enjoyed working on them!”
Django Django returned the praise, commenting, “We’ve been huge fans of Hot Chip from the beginning and had the pleasure of supporting them live a few times now so we’re really chuffed to have a remix from them.”
