Helado Negro returns with the synth-folk gem ‘I Fell In Love’

It’s the first new single since Helado Negro’s breakthrough album This Is How You Smile and new song ‘I Fell in Love’ is an extension of his nonchalance and effortless cool. It’s our Track of the Day.

The new release will be welcome new to fans who have just been introduced to Negro. The track sees Negro working once again with his longtime friend and collaborator Xenia Rubios for a typically warm and comforting new release via Adult Swim’s Singles series.

‘I Fell in Love’ is another tripped out blissful moment in the sun, as Negro provides another synth-folk masterpiece. Negro and Rubios’ conception sees the pair not only provide a track worthy of soundtracking the morning sun but equally as capable of moving int the night.

Lyrically comforting and warm the composition of the song speaks to a more texture experience. The vocals are quiet and gentle, like a warm breeze, and musically it sees the artist once again in the groove.

Negro explained the song’s conception: “It’s a song about love! It’s about all the ways we feel and the complicated things we do to try to understand this feeling.” It’s a succinct assessment of his track.

He continues, “‘Spaceship shaped words fly through your world unheard’ is a lyric that describes how alien the feeling can be and how hard we make it to be known. It’s not simple – it’s too complex to ever say ‘love is like this.’ Movies and songs always get it wrong. Maybe we are wrong too but I know the love I have.”
