Harry Styles announces release of ‘Aperture’, his first single in four years
Harry Styles has revealed that the song ‘Aperture’ will be the lead single from his upcoming album, marking his first new music in almost four years.
The singer took to social media on January 20th to unveil the announcement, revealing that the song will be released on January 23rd at midnight UK time.
Styles revealed no further information regarding the track, but it comes after he unexpectedly announced his fourth studio album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, last week, sending fans into a frenzy.
As such, the record and its lead single ‘Aperture’ will arrive almost four years on from the singer’s previous release, Harry’s House, in May 2022.
So far, over the course of Styles’s album rollout campaign, he has remained characteristically cryptic, with very little information given as to the sound of his new music, other than that the new project has 12 tracks and has been executively produced by his longtime collaborator, Kid Harpoon.
Previously, in the days leading up to the announcement last week, posters had been spotted in various cities all around the world bearing the words “We Belong Together”, along with short messages now suspected to be potential lyrics.
This linked to a video which Styles posted out of the blue shortly after Christmas, in which the same message appeared at the end of footage of the ‘Watermelon Sugar’ singer performing a piano piece during the last show of his Love on Tour in Reggio Emilia, Italy, in 2023.
Since then, Styles has also been teasing fans with a string of cryptic messages via WhatsApp, including a voice note where he sang the words “We belong together,” and a response of certain emojis including cameras and tomatoes when certain phrases were texted to his channel.
There is also widespread speculation that he could be heading back out on tour later this year, with residencies at London’s Wembley Stadium, Manchester’s Co-op Live arena, and New York’s Madison Square Garden all being rumoured.
The singer’s latest album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, is set for release on March 6th, 2026.
