‘Harry Potter’ star Jessie Cave says she was banned from convention due to OnlyFans page
Harry Potter actor Jessie Cave has claimed she wasn’t invited to a fan convention due to having an OnlyFans page.
Earlier this year, Cave, who played Lavender Brown in three Harry Potter movies, announced she was setting up an OnlyFans account and planned to exclusively make hair-related content on the adult platform.
Despite not making adult content on the platform, Cave shared in a SubStack post that it still prevented her from being invited to a fan convention for Harry Potter. “I found out that I didn’t get booked for a Harry Potter convention recently, as I’m now doing OnlyFans,” she shared with fans.
The actor continued, “They explained it was because it’s a ‘family show and OnlyFans is affiliated with porn.’ This was baffling to me as some actors who do conventions (most actors, actually) have done TV and films in which they’ve done sex scenes and nudity. I’m just playing with my hair!”
Cave then explained that with a new adaptation of Harry Potter in the works at HBO, she’s happy to step aside to provide space to new actors in the universe, sharing, “I am not upset about the prospect of no more Harry Potter conventions. There’s going to be a new cast now and it’s a different time. Plus, I have done conventions for over 15 years and have enough photos and wizard memorabilia.”
However, the English actor did also note how fan conventions had been important from a financial perspective, saying, “The money I got from signing photos of my face was the only real money I made. I am very lucky I got to do them”.
When Cave began her OnlyFans venture, she explained her reasoning in another SubStack post, writing, etail: “One year. I’ll try for one year. My aim? To get the house safe, cover the arsenic/lead wallpaper, build a new roof etc. My aim? To get out of debt. My aim? To empower myself? To prove to those in the past who have misjudged me that I’m not so sweet? To put time into something I never invested in before: self-love.”
