Gulp release new track ‘Vast Space’

Gulp, in case you’re unaware, is a side project of Super Furry Animals bass guitarist Guto Pryce, accompanied and fronted by his singer-songwriter wife, Lyndsey Leven.

Together, Gulp have created something so unique that it sounds like you’re being dragged through the unknown, guided by the sound of the reverberated guitar and sweet vintage synth, all in the quest to find that erogenous-sounding psychedelic 1960s voice at the end of the journey.

In reality, Far Out’s Track of the Day ‘Vast Space’ is very much a homemade affair: meeting in Cardiff, writing in the Scottish Highlands and calling on friends to help record the tracks.

Despite this, the general feeling of the record is sincerity and honesty; you can feel that this cosmic pop is something that comes naturally to the duo.

“Everything that you’re writing from the heart is a reflection of what’s going on in your life.” Leven and Pryce explain, “It’s even in times of adversity that we try to remain optimistic.”

The warmth and positivity that Gulp are projecting will undoubtedly be reflected in their debut full-length Season Sun, set to be released this Summer.
