Grimes alleges Elon Musk is “ignoring” their child during “medical crisis”
Grimes has accused her former partner Elon Musk of “ignoring” their child’s “medical crisis” in a string of posts on Musk’s social media platform X.
The couple were in a relationship between 2018 and 2021, and subsequently share three children together. Their eldest, X Æ A-12 was born in 2020, while Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, was born via surrogate in 2021, and their youngest Techno Mechanicus, known as Tau, was born in late 2023.
In September 2021, the couple publicly announced their split but shared that they “still love each other” in public statements.
On February 20th, Grimes took to X—owned by Musk— to allege he was neglecting a medical crisis involving one of their children. While she did not share the details of which child, she responded to a tweet by Musk, writing: “Plz respond about our child’s medical crisis. I am sorry to do this publicly but it’s no longer acceptable to ignore this situation. This requires immediate attention.”
She continued: “If you don’t want to talk to me can you please designate or hire someone who can so that we can move forward on solving this. This is urgent, Elon.”
When a commenter on the platform responded to the tweet and asked for more detail, Grimes responded: “I’m not giving any details but he won’t respond to texts, call or emails and has skipped every meeting and our child will suffer life long impairment if he doesn’t respond asap, so I need him to fucking respond and if I have to apply public pressure then I guess that’s where we are at.”
Since then, Grimes has issued further posts to explain that her initial tweets have been shadow-banned, which means the public can’t see them on her page unless they check her replies. She’s also explained that she’s deleting the posts due to Musk’s lack of response and the fear that the situation could subsequently turn into “a media circus at the expense of the kids”.
Musk is yet to respond to Grimes’ comments.
