London band Great Ytene have announced a show at Camden’s Lock Tavern in tandem with the release of their new single ‘George Street’.
Having initially released early material through their own back label Marshall Teller, Great Ytene teamed up with Bella Union for the release of 2014’s self-titled six track EP.
With a debut album around the corner, the band returned to work with Iggy B of the Bella Union Studios. From the upcoming record, mixed by Hookworms’ very own MJ, the new single leads to push into a new, noise heavy direction.
‘George Street is the latest thing we have popped up and is the sound of things to come, we have an album is on the horizon very soon too,’ frontman Leon Diaper told Far Out Magazine.
‘We also recorded a few live covers recently to pop on a tape along with George Street hence the Mission of Burma cover, the tape also includes a Pavement live cover and other live recordings of new material of ours.’
To coincide the release of ‘George Street’, Great Ytene will headline a Bad Vibrations all-dayer at Camden’s Lock Tavern on Sunday, for more information click here.
