Alfonso Cuaron is set for the release of his 2013 award-winning feature film Gravity and has revealed the trailer for his next work, Roma.
Having been busy working on TV series ‘Believe’ since the release of Gravity, Cuaron has turned his attention to the striking delivery of black-and-white historical drama Roma.
Here’s the official synopsis for the film: “Roma follows Cleo (Yalitza Aparicio), a young domestic worker for a family in the middle-class neighbourhood of Roma in Mexico City. Delivering an artful love letter to the women who raised him, Cuarón draws on his own childhood to create a vivid and emotional portrait of domestic strife and social hierarchy amidst the political turmoil of the 1970s.”
Roma is written and directed by Cuaron and despite being prepared for an exclusive Netflix release. However, it will be heading for a limited cinema release which is likely going to make it eligible for awards season and is targeting an Oscar-friendly release date if December 14th.
