Graham Coxon returns to score ‘End Of The F**king World’
Graham Coxon has returned to popular dark comedy-drama TV series ‘End Of The F**king World’ and has again produced the show’s score.
Based on the comic book series by Charles Forsman, the show follows two teenagers reckless teenagers played by Alex Lawther and Jessica Barden, features an original score from Blur’s Coxon who will officially release the soundtrack in January.
“This show particularly appealed to both my appreciation of dark music as well as my dark sense of humour,” Coxon said in a statement after working on the first series. “It felt like a good fit,” he added.
The new series, which has been heavily talked up, premiered on Channel 4 early in November and will be added to Netflix at a later date. Speaking about the second season, Alex Lawther previously said: “It was based on a comic book series by Charles Forsman and the comics end where our episodes end. It would give [writer Charlie Covell] a chance to explore something from her imagination. I would be very excited about [that] because I think she’s brilliant. So we’ll see, basically.”
Well, we no longer to wait and see, as the show is finally ready to ramp up its promotional push for the big release. “I thought that the first series would be successful in a way,” starring actress Barden told VICE UK. “We had such a great time filming it, so it felt special to us. But we didn’t think people would respond to it the way they did. I thought that people would enjoy it – like, kids would enjoy it. And then I kind of expected, in a few years’ time, for people to be like, ‘Oh, that TV show was great.’
“We also thought with the style in which we were acting… I honestly thought people were going to watch us and be like, ‘She’s terrible at acting: she needs to go in the bin.’”
For now, though, Coxon has shared his first taster from the new score, ‘She Knows’. Stream it, below.
