Gracie Abrams announces new album, ‘Daughter from Hell’, co-produced and co-written by Aaron Dessner

Singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams has confirmed details of her third album, Daughter from Hell.

The new record, set to arrive on July 17th through Interscope Records, has seen Abrams team up with The National’s Aaron Dessner, who has co-written and co-produced the project.

Dessner has previously worked with Abrams on both her 2023 debut album, Good Riddance, and her 2024 mainstream breakthrough, The Secret of Us, with Daughter from Hell acting as the next step of their creative partnership.

Taking to social media, Abrams confirmed that the lead single from the new album, titled ‘Hit the Wall’, would be released on May 14th, writing, “Whoa whoa whoa. Freaking out. I am so ready for it to be yours”.

She has also said online of the new single, “I love it with everything I have.”

As it stands, the tracklist has not yet been released for Daughter from Hell, which is believed to consist of 16 songs.

During an interview with People in January, Abrams said of the album, “I’m beyond ready for it to belong to everyone else. I’ve never felt this way about anything I’ve made before, so it’s definitely driving me crazy in a good way.”

Last year, Abrams opened up about the recording process, revealing that it was being made with Dessner during any free time between touring that their schedules allowed, sharing to Billboard, “Aaron and I are catching each other in these little pockets between hectic times.”

The singer-songwriter went on, “Every day that I live with the music, things start to become a little clearer. There’s something we’re starting to crack that is making both of us feel energized.”

Outside of music, it was confirmed earlier today (May 11th) that Abrams is being joined by Tom Burke in the A24 movie, Please, which marks her first acting role. It’s directed by Halina Reijn, who previously helmed Babygirl, starring Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson.
