GloRilla charged with drug possession in Georgia

Memphis rapper GloRilla has been arrested on drug possession charges. The rapper, who has collaborated with Tyler, The Creator and Lil Wayne, was booked in Georgia earlier this week.

On July 22nd, the 25-year-old was charged with possession of a scheduled controlled substance and possession of marijuana over one ounce.

According to TMZ, GloRilla was taken into custody in Forsyth County and released on a $22,000 bond later that day. She has yet to comment on the arrest.

A Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office representative told Complex she “voluntarily turned herself in.” The arrest comes after officers responded to “a report of a burglary in progress” at her home on July 20th, but she wasn’t home.

The representative said, “It was reported that three suspects had entered the home and were in the process of stealing items when an armed occupant fired at the intruders. The suspects fled the scene, and it does not appear that any of them were struck.

“No injuries were reported among the home’s occupants. Despite an extensive search involving uniform patrol, K-9 teams, and the FCSO Drone Unit, the suspects were not located.”

GloRilla released her debut album Glorious on Interscope Records last October. The project was nominated for ‘Album of the Year’ at the 2025 BET Awards, with features from Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, Sexyy Red, T-Pain, Muni Long, and others. It peaked at number five on the Billboard 200 chart, featuring hit singles ‘Whatchu Kno About Me’, ‘TGIF’, and ‘Hollon’.

She was previously arrested last year and charged with driving under the influence, possessing an open container in a motor vehicle, and failure to obey a traffic control device. The incident occurred in Suwanee, Georgia, after she did a U-turn at a red light.

A police officer “immediately noticed her eyes to be watery and bloodshot,” smelling marijuana in her car and alcohol on her breath. The officer said she also “noticed that her sentences were not always making sense and that she had a hard time finishing her thoughts.”
